The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office was contacted on Sept. 19 regarding a four-month old infant who had been brought to the Delhi Hospital Emergency Room by ambulance and later died.
The infant was sent for an autopsy and preliminary findings revealed multiple internal injuries and the death was classified as a homicide.
During the investigation into the death the infant’s mother, 39-year-old Candace Brown, was arrested and charged with second degree murder. Brown was booked into the Richland Parish Detention Center with a bond of $1,000,000.
During the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained on Sept. 26 for Joseph Alzmann for one count of accessory after the fact and one count of obstruction of justice. Alzmann was arrested and booked into the Richland Parish Detention Center and is being held on $600,000 bond.
