Rayville Junior High School invited community leaders from Rayville to visit on Sept. 25, and have morning refreshments and muffins with the students, teachers, faculty and staff.
Together, the group discussed ways to build a better and safer community.
“This year we had a larger crowd of community leaders to come out compared to last year,” RJHS teacher Torrie Britton said. “The mentors had the opportunity to chat with students and teachers visited the classrooms.”
Among those taking part in the event were Richland Parish School Board members, Cool Kids Inc., Little Feathers Inc., and the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
First Baptist Church, Rankin Chapel A.M.E. Church, Macedonia Baptist Church and other churches also participated along with Richardson Medical Center staff.
Rayville mayor pro tem Jerry Jordan, town alderwoman Consuela Hunter and others officials employed with the town of Rayville, Rayville Police Department, Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Rayville Clerk of Court’s office also attended along with the parents of RJHS students.
