Richland teams look ahead to Friday’s games

Sterlington High School will host the Rayville Hornets in a non-district varsity football matchup at 7 p.m. Sept. 12.

Both teams enter the contest with 1–0 records.

The Hornets secured a narrow win over General Trass in Friday night’s nondistrict home game, finishing with a final score of 14–12.

Rayville hosted the matchup and held off the Panthers to improve their record.

The Delhi High School varsity football team will travel to Delhi Charter for a district game at 7 p.m. on Sept. 12.

Both teams enter the matchup with 0–1 records. Delhi fell to Beekman Charter in its season opener, 50–24.

The defeat places Delhi at 0–1 overall and 0–1 away, with no home games played yet. The team scored 24 points and allowed 50.

Delhi Charter traveled to Cedar Creek for a nondistrict game on Friday night and came up short, losing 19–14.

The Mangham Dragons will host the Richwood Rams in a non-district varsity football game at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Dragons come into the game at 0-1 after opening their regular season this week with a 64-48 loss to the Jena Giants.

Riverfield Academy will host Greenville Christian in a district football matchup at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Raiders enter the contest with a 0–1 record after having a bye this week, while the visiting Saints are 0–3.

Both teams will be seeking their first win of the season in this conference clash.
