Four Richland Parish high school football teams will take the field Friday night, Sept. 5, as the regular season officially begins across Louisiana.
All games are scheduled for 7 p.m., with two teams hosting home openers and two hitting the road.
The Mangham Dragons, fresh off a dominant 28–8 win over Richwood at Bayou Jamb in Monroe, will host Jena in what promises to be a physical matchup. Mangham showed earlyseason poise last week, controlling the line of scrimmage and flashing big-play potential on both sides of the ball.
Also riding momentum from Bayou Jamb, the Delhi Charter Gators will travel to Cedar Creek after edging out Jonesboro-Hodge 20–16 in a hard-fought preseason contest. The Gators will look to carry that grit into their season opener against a traditionally disciplined Cedar Creek squad.
The Delhi High Bears head to Beekman Charter, aiming to start strong after a summer of rebuilding and preparation.
Meanwhile, the Rayville Hornets will host General Trass, hoping to make a statement in front of a home crowd eager for a fresh start.
With preseason behind them and the stakes rising, Friday night marks the true beginning of the 2025 campaign for Richland Parish football.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. across all venues.
