Rayville Junior High JAG program is excelling

Rayville Junior High is proud to highlight this year’s Jobs for America’s Graduates–Louisiana program, a statewide initiative dedicated to equipping students with the tools, skills, and confidence to succeed in school, career, and life.

This year’s JAG instructor is Kierra Armstrong, who is also a Rayville alumna and second-year specialist. She is under the direction of Stephanie Walker, along with RJHS principal Amanda Stein and assistant principal Andrea Bailey.

JAG is designed to educate students on careers, leadership, community service, and social awareness, with the ultimate goal of helping them graduate and prepare for success beyond the classroom. Through this program, students engage in leadership development, career exploration, community involvement, and essential life skills training.

Students enrolled in the JAG program will also be active members of the Louisiana Career Association, a student-led organization that focuses on leadership, personal growth, and service. The association provides opportunities for students to build stronger relationships, develop confidence, and maintain positive attitudes while preparing for the workforce.

This year, RJHS is excited to celebrate JAG officers during the Installation and induction ceremony at Rayville Junior High at 11 a.m. Sept. 11. The ceremony will highlight the student leaders who have been chosen to represent their peers as officers of the career association.

These students will serve as role models and ambassadors of leadership, responsibility, and service throughout the school year. Guest speaker Jalon Chatmon will speak on the importance of being a leader. His words will inspire and challenge students to embrace leadership as a powerful tool for personal and community growth.

“As the JAG instructor at Rayville Junior High, I am deeply proud of the dedication and enthusiasm our students bring to this program,” Armstrong said. “Their commitment to learning, leadership, and service is a reflection of the bright futures ahead of them. We invite families, community members, and supporters to join us in celebrating our students at this meaningful event. Together, we can continue to empower young leaders and ensure their success in school, career, and life.”
