The Riverfield Raiders kicked off their season last night against the visiting Greenville, MS St. Joe Irish, but came up short in a 28-7 defeat.
The first half was a defensive battle, with both teams struggling to move the ball and committing multiple penalties. The Irish capitalized on the Raiders’ mistakes, taking a commanding 14-0 lead into halftime.
The second half saw some improvement from the Raiders, as they managed to score, but the Irish offense was too strong, adding another score to their tally. Despite the Raiders’ efforts, the final score read 28-7 in favor of the St. Joe Irish.
The Raiders will regroup and focus on making necessary adjustments as they prepare to take on River Oaks next week in Monroe.
With some key changes, the Raiders will look to bounce back and show their true potential.
