Taste of Richland Set for Sept. 13 at Rayville Civic Center

Taste of Richland Set for Sept. 13 at Rayville Civic Center

The annual Taste of Richland event, hosted by TRIAD, will take place from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Rayville Civic Center.

This year’s theme is “Cast Iron Cooking,” and participants are invited to showcase their culinary skills using traditional cast iron methods.

Teams interested in participating must submit an entry form by Sept. 9.

Each cooking team may consist of up to three members and must include contact information, the dish they plan to prepare, and an attached recipe for inclusion in the event’s cookbook.

The entry fee is $100 per team, which covers booth space and four admission tickets.

Teams are required to serve at least 150 small portions of their prepared food. Serving containers will be provided.

Each booth must display a sign with the participants name sand the dish being served.

An award will be given for the best decorated booth, in keeping with the cast iron cooking theme.

Participants may begin setting up at 3:00 p.m., with setup to be completed by 5:30 p.m. Due to limited electrical outlets, teams are asked to bring a chafing dish or other means of keeping food warm.
