The August meeting of the Tommy Cook American Legion Post #122 will be held in conjunction with the Post’s 100th anniversary celebration at 6 p.m. on Aug. 13 at the Rayville Methodist Church Family Life Center.
Dinner will be served. Legion and Auxiliary members and their spouse/guest are invited and encouraged to attend. Be sure to RSVP by August 1, 2025, by calling 318-334-5675 or 318334-8556 to provide a food head count.
The program will include the biographies and accomplishments of the original 15 charter members who are listed on the 1925 Post charter.
The post was chartered on Aug. 13, 1925. Original charter members were J.O. Glanton, Ed Shamblin, John McCarthy, Murray Eppinette, Tom Christian, H.G. Cochran, A.H. Cochren, Len Cumpton, Roy Mc-Donald, Martin Stogghill, George B. Franklin, C.J. Ellis Jr., Edgar T. Morris, Tom Parks and K.E. Batman.
