Boren unanimously named Rayville fire chief

William “Billy” Boren Jr. was unanimously named as Rayville’s new fire chief on July 14 at the Rayville Town Council meeting. A reception was held immediately after the council meeting at the fire department. Many attended in support of Chief Boren and praised him for the recent updates to the building. Above, Boren (left) is congratulated by Rayville Mayor Harry Lewis (center) and RFD Captain Billy Cardin. “I’d like to thank Mayor Lewis and the town council members for their support, as well as everyone who has shown support throughout this transition,” Chief Boren said. “Especially the dedicated and hardworking members of the department. I’m proud of the progress we have made so far and look forward to what we can accomplish in the future.”
