Tender Touch Nursery has launched its 2025 Summer Camp, offering local students a structured program focused on reading enrichment and socialemotional development.
Thanks to generous donations and community fundraising, the camp is fully funded for 46 students.
“Our goal was to ensure every child has access to quality educational support during the summer months,” said LaMetress Bell-Rodgers, owner of Tender Touch Nursery.
This year’s program includes a new partnership with Rayville High School, providing paid internships for high school seniors. The initiative offers mentorship and real-world experience, preparing students for future academic and professional success.
Area teachers are also contributing to the camp by leading summer classes and hands-on learning activities.
At the program’s conclusion, interns will be eligible to apply for scholarships funded through local contributions and fundraising events.
Following the camp, Tender Touch staff will assist families in applying for the Louisiana Childcare Assistance Program, which helps cover afterschool care costs for qualifying families during the 2025–2026 school year.
“Our mission is to extend educational support while helping families access financial assistance for structured learning opportunities beyond regular school hours,” Bell-Rodgers said.
