This year the Friends of the Richland Parish Library board voted to encourage reading by giving Accelerated Readers Reading Award Certificates and gift cards to the parish’s top readers.
These award were give to the top three Accelerated Readers in first through fifth grade at all five Richland Parish Public Elementary Schools. Students were chosen strictly based on their AR points for this school year.
Each top AR Reader received an award certificate and Wal-Mart gift card from Friends. Those who placed first received $50 cards while second place received $30 cards, and third place received $20 cards.
Friends are very proud of these and all readers. Keep up the good work and remember to come to your Richland Parish Library for Summer Reading.

Friends of the Richland Parish Library is a nonprofi t organization advocating for the library, promoting literacy and a love of reading in all forms. FORPL raises funds in varies ways separate from the library’s normal operating funds.
