Saints Alive holds final gathering of the season

Saints Alive, a ministry of First Baptist Church, held its final meeting for the season on May 5.

The meeting was opened by president Judy Slayter. Prayer requests were received, and prayer was then offered. The birthday honorees for May were also congratulated. Everyone joined to sing Happy Birthday to those turning one year younger. It was led by Sharon Blaylock and Beverly Jackson. Beverly had missed several meetings due to illness so it was wonderful to see her back.

The many churches represented were acknowledged, and the firsttime visitors welcomed.

According to the Saints Alive tradition, the meal for this month was a fish fry which was enjoyed by everyone. One person described it as the best fried catfish ever.

After the meal the popular Jericho Project group performed. They are always much appreciated.

The participants closed the evening by singing the traditional number “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

The next meeting will be in October. The Saints Alive wish everyone a wonderful summer.

Saints Alive meets during the months of October through May. Anyone fifty or over is invited to join. There are no dues for this calendar year. T he meetings feature delicious meals, wonderful Christian entertainment/ ministry and the best fellowship ever.
