The heart of the Rayville community, its esteemed senior citizens, were the guests of honor at a luncheon hosted by Rayville Police Chief Markus Turner at the Rayville Civic Center on May 6.

Turner felt the event served as a wonderful opportunity to gather, share stories, and express gratitude for their invaluable contributions to Rayville over the years.

Organizers were delighted by the turnout, with many familiar faces and cheerful conversations filling the room. The luncheon featured a delicious meal, games, and activities, and provided a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.

“Seeing everyone come together like this is truly special,” said Chief Turner. “Our senior residents are the foundation of Rayville, and events like this are just a small way for me to say ‘thank you’ and show how much I appreciate them.”

The success of the luncheon highlights the importance of creating spaces and opportunities for senior citizens to connect, socialize, and remain active participants in community life.

“The smiles and fellowship shared were a testament to the strong bonds within our town,” Turner said.

Turner offered a heartfelt thank you to every senior who attended the luncheon.

“Your presence made the event a true success, and we look forward to hosting many more gatherings in the future,” Turner said.
