Macy Lee Hale finished up her illustrious athletic career at Riverfield Academy on May 2, winning state 4A titles in the shot put and discus. Her shot put mark was 39’8” (seven feet further than second place), and her discus throw of 133 feet was a personal best, a school record, and the farthest throw in Northeast Louisiana history for any public or private school. She also broke the 4A MAIS record of 128’6,” which was set in 1997. Hale will take her talent to ULM in the fall, where she will join the Warhawks track and field team.
