Rep. Francis Thompson of Delhi has presented House Bill 180, which renames a portion of Highway 425 in Richland Parish in the community of Archibald, as the Sheriff Gary Gilley Memorial Highway. “We are so thankful for our former sheriff and my good friend, Gary Gilley, who served our area for more than 30 years in law enforcement. The naming of this highway is a special way to recognize his impact on Richland Parish—and his children and grandchildren will see this sign every day,” Thompson said. Thompson presented the bill to the legislature on April 24.
