Lydia Rogers

Mangham Junior High would like to announce Lydia Rogers has been chosen as the Richland Parish eighth Grade Student of the Year.

Lydia is the daughter of Brian and Julie Rogers. She has received many awards for School Wide Positive Behavior, Citizenship, All A’s, Accelerating Reading, Student of the Week, and Taylor Scholars Award.

In seventh grade she placed first in nonfiction in both Mangham Junior High’s Young Author’s Contest and Richland Parish’s Young Author’s Contest.

Lydia is extremely active in and out of school. She is a member of the Mangham Junior High Chapter of the National Junior Beta Club where she is currently serving as vice president, the school newsletter, Fellowship of Christian Students, Future Farmers of America where she is currently serving as vice president, the Book Club, and the 4- H Club where she is currently serving as president. As a member of the 4-H club, Lydia participates in both cookery and photography competitions.

Lydia is a Mangham Junior High cheerleader and is a member of the track team. Lydia is also very passionate about the arts. This past summer she participated in the Princess Theater’s summer camp. She is also an entrepreneur, owning “Purple by Lydia” where she creates and sells art pieces.

Lydia is a member of The House Church where she is a member of the media team.
