Steve Torres

Steve Torres, a cherished husband, father and patriot, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024, at the age of 68 years, at the Cornerstone Specialty Hospital in Bossier City.

Steve was born on October 1, 1955, in Delhi. He received a bachelor of administration in Accounting. After graduation, his calling to serve led to an impressive 32-year career in the United States Army and Reserves from which he retired with the honorable rank of sergeant major. Throughout his military tenure, he also served as an Army recruiter, where he inspired countless young men and women to pursue service to their country. Steve’s unwavering faith guided him throughout his life, and he dedicated himself as a lay minister, touching the lives of many with his compassion and wisdom.

Steve was an active member of Brister Baptist Church, where he nurtured his spiritual life and community bonds. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in nature, whether it was hunting or simply spending time with his beloved dogs. His skills as a handyman were well-known and his sense of adventure took him traveling to places with family and friends.
