Saints Alive, an outreach ministry of First Baptist Church, Rayville, met Monday, April 6.
The gathering was opened by our hostess, Liz Allen. She makes everyone feel so welcome. Those who had birthdays since we last gathered and those having birthdays in April were recognized, and “Happy Birthday” was sung. We were happy to welcome guests Billi Norman and Cid Dillard. The blessing was given by Fred Lambert.
The tables were beautifully decorated with the Easter theme. Cathy Cooper does a wonderful job decorating each month. We enjoyed a delicious hamburger meal with all the fixings and delicious desserts provided by our awesome cooks. We appreciate so much Mike Sullivan, Fred Lambert and Mike Altazine for grilling the burgers. We were happy to have Brother Chris Crawford to provide the entertainment. We were so blessed by the beautiful gospel concert. It is always a blessing when he is able to come minister.
Prayer requests were made. There are many prayer needs in our community. Rickey Cooper prayed over these needs.
Liz announced the information for our next meeting. It will be at 6 p.m. on May 4 in the Rayville First Baptist Church gym. This will be our last meeting until October.
We will have a fish fry with the trimmings, which is being provided. The Saints will need to bring desserts. The very talented group, Jericho Project, will be the entertainment. You will certainly be blessed!
We concluded our gathering with our lively version of our theme song, “When the Saints Go Marching In,” led by Sharon Blaylock. Carolyn Sharbono won the door prize. Please join us for our next gathering on May 4. This is an outreach ministry for seniors, 55 and older. You are welcome, and we would love to have you.
