Delhi High School delivered a dominant, all-around performance at the LHSAA 1A District 2 Track and Field Championships on April 24, 2026, with both the Delhi boys (106 points) and Delhi girls (180 points) claiming district champion titles in impressive fashion. St. Frederick High School was named district runner-up for both boys and girls.

On the boys side, Delhi’s success was powered by multiple first-place finishes and strong performances across events. Devin Miles led the charge, winning the 110-meter hurdles (15.46) while also contributing to two championship relay teams. The Bears dominated relays, capturing first place in the 4x200 relay (1:30.66 — Jatavious Hester, Devin Miles, Terrance Williams, Dae’rion Jackson) and the 4x100 relay (43.72 — Dae’rion Jackson, Jatavious Hester, Devin Miles, Terrance Williams).

Terrance Williams added another title in the 300-meter hurdles (38.59), while Jatavious Hester sprinted to victory in the 200-meter dash (22.29). In distance events, Daylen Beals secured gold in the 3200-meter run (13:55.87), and the Bears capped the meet with another relay win in the 4x400 relay (3:41.64 — Jatavious Hester, Terrance Williams, Dae’rion Jackson, Devin Miles).

Field events were equally strong, as Zion Hogan posted first-place finishes in both the shot put (42-2) and discus (134-4). Additional contributions came from Tyson Ross in the 800-meter run (2:22.38, fourth place) and Cedric Cleveland in the triple jump (29-5, second place).

The Delhi girls matched that dominance with a commanding team performance highlighted by depth and multiple champions. Taylor Cleveland was a standout, winning both the 100-meter hurdles (20.11) and the 300-meter hurdles (55.01).

In the sprints, Za’Quala Wilford captured gold in the 100-meter dash (14.14) and added a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash (29.18). Delhi’s relay teams were outstanding, earning titles in the 4x200 relay (1:52.41) and the 4x100 relay (52.23), while also finishing second in the 4x400 relay (4:50.09).
