The 1967 R.E.S. faculty
This faculty photograph, taken from a 1967 yearbook at Rayville Elementary School, offers a glimpse into the educators who helped shape the community decades ago. According to Sue Greer, the book — featuring a hornet on the cover — is believed to be the only junior high yearbook produced at the school. The photo identifies faculty members by their husbands’ names or initials, a common practice at the time, rather than by their own first names. Of the teachers pictured, Greer notes that Edwina Dillard, Sue Greer and Joy Walters are among those still living.
Shown are, seated, Mrs. W. L. Sims Jr., Mrs. Wilma Francis, Mrs. Basil Doles, Mrs. T. E. Dillard, Mrs. Louie Fike, Mrs. E. R. Bradshaw and Mrs. A. T. Owen; second row, Mrs. Jimmy Bruce, Mrs. O. G.
