The Winnfield Tiger Relays showcased a competitive field of athletes, with strong performances across both divisions and another impressive showing from Delhi High School.
In the boys division, Red River, Peabody and Buckeye athletes captured multiple individual titles, while Delhi stood out in relay events and sprints.
Delhi athletes made a major impact, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 4x200-meter relay (1:31.62, Dae’reon Jackson, Jatavius Hester, Jamarquise Richardson, Terrance Williams) and the 4x400-meter relay (3:42.49, Dae’reon Jackson, Jayden Lusk, Jatavius Hester, Terrance Williams).
Individually, Terrance Williams captured first in the 200-meter dash (21.83) and the 300meter hurdles. Delhi also saw a solid effort from Hester, who placed third in the 200-meter dash.
In the girls division, Buckeye emerged as a dominant force, winning multiple events, including the 4x800-meter relay, the 1,600-meter run (Abbi Poche), the 3,200-meter run and the 800-meter run.
Bunkie also impressed with wins in the 4x100-meter relay and standout performances from Margaret Newton in both the 400meter and 200-meter dashes.
Red River claimed the 100-meter hurdles title, while Peabody took first in the 4x200- and 4x400-meter relays.
Delhi athletes continued to compete at a high level, with the girls 4x200-meter relay team finishing fourth and the 4x400-meter relay team placing third. Taylor Cleveland led Delhi with a third-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles, while Mahogany Cleveland earned third in the triple jump.
In field events, La’kendra Fletcher placed second in the shot put, and De’Miracle Johnson secured fifth in the discus. Additional contributions came from Za’Quala Wilford and Ja’miyla Capers in sprint events, along with Mellane Butler and Chadsity Jones in the high jump.
Overall, the Winnfield Tiger Relays highlighted depth and competitiveness across the region, with Delhi athletes delivering strong relay performances, multiple individual podium finishes and continued momentum as the track and field season progresses.
