More than a hundred children and adults gathered at Rayville Elementary School on April 3 for a community Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Rayville Nursing Home, and Richardson Medical Center.
Before and after the hunt, children enjoyed time on the playground—swinging, sliding, and burning off energy as families visited and waited for the festivities to begin.
The event opened with a prayer led by Tim Hoychick, setting a warm and welcoming tone for the afternoon.
The Cotton Blossoms girls helped hide hundreds of colorful eggs across the school playground, while Chills on Wheels served snow cones to excited kids.
Eric Reed stepped into the role of Easter Bunny, greeting families and posing for photos. The Start Middle School Cheerleaders also operated a concession stand to raise money for their upcoming trip to cheer camp at ULM this summer.
Event organizers expressed their appreciation to the community for turning out in such strong numbers. Richardson Medical Center Marketing Lead Mallory Williams shared thanks on behalf of the hosting organizations and offered special recognition to Principal Elycia Hill for allowing the use of the Rayville Elementary campus.
“It was a beautiful day,” Williams said, noting that the team already has ideas to make next year’s hunt even better. “Go ahead and mark your calendar for next year’s Easter Egg Hunt!”
