Saints Alive, an outreach ministry of First Baptist Church in Rayville, met March 2.
The gathering was opened by our bubbly hostess, Liz Allen, who makes everyone feel so welcome. Prayer requests were received.
Those who had birthdays since the last gathering and those with March birthdays were recognized. We were happy to welcome guests, Debbie Norman and Carolyn Sharbono.
Happy birthday was sung to our birthday saints. Opening prayer and the blessing were given by Gordon Allen.
The tables were beautifully decorated, and the meal was prepared by the ladies who do decorating each month.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious potluck meal. We all enjoyed everyone’s cooking — probably too much.
We had our own local Wayne Smart to provide the entertainment.
He is an awesome entertainer. We enjoyed his beautiful singing and his joke telling. It is always a pleasure to have Wayne and his lovely wife, Kathy, with us.
We concluded the meeting with our lively version of When the Saints Go Marching In led by Sharon Blaylock.
Reatage Wooden won the door prize. Johnny Hoychick closed our gathering with prayer.
We had all had a wonderful time of fellowship, a delicious meal and awesome entertainment.
Saints Alive is a ministry for seniors, 55 and older. All are welcome, and we would love to have you.
Our next meeting is a hamburger supper. Brother Chris Crawford, pastor of Eastside, will be our entertainment. He is always a blessing.
Please join us for our next gathering at 6 p.m. April 6 in the women’s ministries room at First Baptist Church in Rayville.
