Delhi Charter endured a challenging four-game stretch from March 18–21, facing a slate of tough opponents while searching for consistency at the plate.
The Gators opened the week with a 10-0 loss to Simsboro on March 18, managing just two hits in the contest. Sullivan Jeffers delivered a double, while Ian Till added a hit and Peyton Fuller reached base twice with walks. Delhi Charter struck out seven times and was unable to build sustained offense.
On the mound, Will Brown struck out six over 2 2/3 innings, with Kade Brown and Zeke McKinney providing relief. The Gators committed one error defensively.
Delhi Charter followed with another 10-0 loss March 19 against Jena in district play. Fuller accounted for the team’s only hit, finishing 2-for-2, and also started on the mound, striking out four over 4 1/3 innings. Kade Brown worked in relief.
Defensively, Will Brown recorded a caught stealing, while Brandon Velazquez and Brooks Jammal were each charged with errors.
The Gators showed signs of life offensively March 20 against Delta Charter, collecting three hits in a 12-2 loss. Kade Brown led the way, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Jeffers added a hit and an RBI, while Fuller and Brooks Jammal also contributed hits.
Will Brown turned in a strong performance on the mound, striking out 10 over five innings, but Delta Charter capitalized on key moments to pull away. Delhi Charter also committed multiple errors that led to additional scoring opportunities.
The stretch concluded March 21 with a 14-0 loss to West Ouachita. Fuller and Kalvin Hardy recorded the Gators’ only hits, while Fuller also reached base twice with a walk.
Kade Brown started on the mound and struck out two over 3.2 innings, with Jeffers adding one strikeout in relief.
Across the four games, Delhi Charter was limited offensively but saw steady individual contributions from Brown, Fuller and Jeffers, who consistently found ways to reach base and produce at the plate.
The Gators will look to regroup and find more consistency as district play continues.
