The Delhi High School track and field teams delivered an outstanding performance at the Cougar Relays, hosted March 21 by Cedar Creek School at Louisiana Tech University, with both the Bears and Lady Bears capturing overall team titles and turning in dominant showings across multiple events.

The Delhi boys team led the way with a powerful display of speed and strength, highlighted by a clean sweep of all three sprint relays. The Bears captured first place in the 4x100 (44.81), 4x200 and 4x400, showcasing elite teamwork and depth. Individually, senior Terrance Williams was a standout, winning both the 200-meter dash (22.26) and 300-meter hurdles (43.76), while Devin Miles claimed the 110-meter hurdles title (15.73) and added a second-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles. In the field events, Zion Hogan dominated with first-place finishes in both shot put (44-11) and discus (113-5), and freshman Daylen Beals earned gold in the 3,200meter run. Additional strong performances came from Jatavious Hester (second, 200m), Tyson Ross (second, 800m) and Jayden Lusk (second, high jump), contributing to Delhi’s overall dominance.

On the girls side, the Lady Bears also made a strong statement, highlighted by a first-place finish from Taylor Cleveland in the 100-meter hurdles (20.63) and a victory in the 4x200 relay (2:00.29).

La’Kendra Fletcher led the field in shot put with a winning throw of 27-8, while Za’Quala Wilford added a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash. The Lady Bears showed depth in the field events with multiple podium finishes, including Savannah Beals (second, triple jump) and De’Miracle Johnson (second, javelin), along with a sweep of second and third place in the shot put. Delhi’s relay teams continued to perform well, finishing second in the 4x400 and third in the 4x100.
