The Mangham Lady Dragons put together an impressive run from March 16–21, combining dominant pitching with explosive offense to win four of six games and showcase one of the area’s most balanced lineups.
Mangham opened the stretch in commanding fashion March 16, blanking Madison 15-0 behind a complete team effort. The Lady Dragons piled up nine hits and took advantage of scoring opportunities early, while Marra Beth Hutson and Ellie Barton combined for a no-hit performance in the circle.
The momentum carried into March 17, when Mangham shut out Beekman Charter 12-0. Hutson was again dominant, tossing five hitless innings while striking out five. At the plate, Madelyn Wiggins, Micaela Turner and Ava Glass led a balanced attack that continued to pressure opposing defenses.
Mangham’s streak was halted March 19 in an 8-4 loss to Ouachita Christian. Turner paced the offense with two hits and an RBI, while Hutson added a double. Despite the setback, the Lady Dragons remained competitive and continued to produce offensively.
The Lady Dragons responded with one of their strongest offensive showings of the stretch on March 20, battling in a high-scoring 13-12 loss to Vidalia. Mangham finished with 15 hits, led by Glass with three RBIs and Wiggins with three hits. Ella Dickens, Shelbie Pruitt and Turner also contributed multi-hit performances as Mangham pushed runs across in nearly every inning.
Mangham bounced back March 21 with an 8-0 shutout of Harrisonburg. Hutson delivered a complete-game performance, striking out 10 while allowing just six hits. Wiggins, Ellie Barton and Glass led the offense as the Lady Dragons capitalized on key scoring chances.
Later that day, Mangham closed the stretch with a 7-1 win over Sumner. Abigail Hardie turned in a complete-game effort, striking out eight while limiting Sumner to one run. Turner, Pruitt and Glass led the offense, helping Mangham break the game open with a six-run fourth inning.
Across the six-game stretch, Mangham showcased its depth and versatility, with consistent production from Wiggins, Turner, Glass and Pruitt, while Hutson and Hardie anchored the pitching staff.
With a combination of dominant outings in the circle and a lineup capable of producing runs in bunches, the Lady Dragons continue to build momentum as the season progresses.
