Mangham combines power and pitching in strong week

The Mangham Dragons put together an impressive week from March 16–21, showcasing explosive offense and dominant pitching in three wins over four games.

Mangham opened the stretch in emphatic fashion March 16, overwhelming Delhi Charter 20-1 behind a massive offensive outburst. The Dragons erupted for 17 runs in the second inning and finished with 12 hits while drawing 11 walks.

Rodrick Roberson led the way with a 3-for-3 performance, while Cade Poland collected three hits and scored four runs. Evan Barton drove in four runs, and Brody Hudson crossed the plate three times as Mangham saw production throughout the lineup.

The momentum carried into March 17, when the Dragons secured a 7-2 win over Family Community Christian. Blake Pierce delivered a dominant complete-game performance, striking out 10 while allowing just two runs.

At the plate, Poland continued his hot streak with a home run and a triple, while Reggie Roberson added three hits. Carson Mooney, Colby Casey and Pierce each contributed to a balanced offensive effort as Mangham maintained steady control of the game.

The Dragons then showed their ability to win tight contests on March 19, edging Oak Grove 2-1 behind a standout performance from Mooney. He tossed a complete game, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out six.

Mangham managed just three hits in the game but made them count, with Casey delivering a key double and Hudson and Barton each adding hits to support the win.

Mangham closed the stretch with a 4-1 loss to Oak Grove on March 21. The Dragons collected seven hits but were unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Mooney drove in the team’s lone run, while Hudson, Casey, Aiden Twiner and Pierce each recorded hits. Pierce started on the mound, and Casey provided strong relief with seven strikeouts over four innings.

Across the four games, Mangham demonstrated its versatility, combining explosive offensive performances with strong pitching from Pierce and Mooney.

The Dragons will look to build on that balance as they continue their season.
