Delhi officer fired following arrest

A Delhi police officer has been dismissed following his arrest by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 26.

Derek Hall was arrested on charges of obscenity, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and no insurance, according to LPSO.

Delhi Police Chief Roy Williams said he confirmed the charges with LPSO and dismissed Hall on Friday.

“I spoke with the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office and confirmed he had been charged and dismissed him on Friday,” Williams said. “The policy is pretty cut and dried.”

Williams said Hall was driving his personal vehicle at the time of the arrest.
