District IX of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association will hold its Spring District Meeting at 10 a.m. March 9 at Big John’s Steak and Seafood in Rayville.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the restaurant, located at 112 Cotton Road. District IX includes East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Richland, Tensas and West Carroll parishes. Retired teachers from those parishes are invited to attend.
Leandra Mitchell, District IX president, will preside over the meeting.
LRTA Executive Director Dr. Paul E. Nelson is scheduled to speak about the upcoming 2026 Regular Session and legislation that could impact retired teachers.
The Louisiana Retired Teachers Association is a nonprofit organization devoted to protecting and enhancing benefits for individuals receiving retirement benefits from the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana.
