Mangham rocks to 50s & Floats
Residents stepped back in time Saturday night during the Mangham Enrichment Committee’s 50s & Floats event.
From classic tunes to old-fashioned floats, the event drew smiling faces of all ages as the community gathered for a night of nostalgia and fellowship.
One of the highlights of the evening was the opportunity to browse old Mangham High School scrapbooks and yearbooks. Attendees flipped through pages filled with familiar faces and stories from years past, sparking conversations and fond memories. The display served as a reminder of the town’s rich history and the pride generations have taken in their school and community.
Organizers expressed appreciation to the many individuals and groups who helped make the event a success. Colonial Manor and Deerfield Nursing Home participated in the festivities, adding to the intergenerational spirit of the evening.
Honey’s provided plates and cutlery for the event. The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office grilled the burgers.
Additional thanks were extended to Leslie Mizell for creating the balloon arch that welcomed guests, Ginger Lawson for providing a 360-degree photo booth which captured memories throughout the night, and Wayne Smart for providing entertainment that kept the energy high.
Mangham Mayor Charlotte Boone said the event showcased what makes Mangham special — a strong sense of community, shared history and neighbors who enjoy coming together to celebrate.
