Fifth grade students at Riverfield Academy celebrated their DARE graduation Feb. 12 following 12 weeks of instruction focused on making safe and healthy choices.
DARE, which stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education, promotes awareness and encourages students to commit to avoiding drugs and other risky behaviors. Resource Officer and DARE instructor Chris Crawford led the class.
Several students were recognized for their essays. Award recipients were Charlie Zoe Hutchinson, first place; Jey Strickland, second; Kaden Giesbrecht, third; Angelica Oum, first; Hadley Giesbrecht, second; and Brynlee Carlisle, third.
