Members of the Mangham High School FFA chapter were recognized for a successful showing season during the Northeast District Livestock Show awards banquet held last Friday in Delhi.
Students earned multiple scholarships, championship honors and top placements in broiler, poultry and showmanship competitions, capping off what advisors described as a strong and rewarding week of competition.
Abbigail Hardie received the PTI Scholarship, Don Marshall Memorial Scholarship and the Northeast District Livestock Show Scholarship, totaling $1,850. Hardie also earned Reserve Champion Broiler Pen and placed fourth in Senior Broiler Showmanship.
Mark Vigil earned the Jennifer Lingefelt Memorial Scholarship, PTI Scholarship, Don Marshall Memorial Scholarship and the Northeast District Livestock Show Scholarship, for a total of $2,850. Vigil also received a Blue Ribbon Broiler Pen, placed sixth in Senior Broiler Showmanship, earned Best Variety honors for both Black Jersey Giant Hen and Blue Jersey Giant Hen, placed fifth in Exhibition Showmanship and finished third with a Havana Buck.
Josie Mullins placed fifth in the Broiler Pen category and earned third place in Senior Showmanship.
Cohen Woodruff was recognized with the First Time Exhibitor Award, placed second in Intermediate Showmanship and finished sixth in the Pen of Broilers category.
Mangham FFA advisors praised the students for their dedication, preparation and sportsmanship throughout the week, noting that the results reflect the chapter’s commitment to agricultural education and leadership through the Future Farmers of America program.
