Potts named as spelling champ

Rayville Junior High School seventh-grader M’kenzie Potts earned first place in the school’s annual spelling bee, bringing home the title after a strong showing in the competition.

Known for her dedication to academics, she has shown a consistent interest in expanding her vocabulary and challenging herself through learning.

Potts is active in several extracurricular activities at Rayville Junior High. She is a member of the school’s marching band, where she performs as part of the ensemble, and is also involved in the drama club, performing in stage productions. In addition, she plays basketball, balancing athletics with her academic pursuits.

She is the daughter of Lela Dean and Michael Potts. Looking ahead, Potts plans to attend Rayville High School before continuing her education at Grambling State University.

She hopes to become a member of the Grambling State University World Famed Tiger Marching Band, combining her academic goals with her passion for music and performance.

With a wide range of interests and a strong work ethic, Potts continues to stand out as a student leader at Rayville Junior High School and a positive example for her peers.
