Officials publish contact numbers for assistance

State agencies and nonprofit organizations are offering multiple avenues of assistance for residents and businesses impacted by the January 2026 winter storms, including damage reporting tools and free cleanup support.

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is asking residents to report storm-related damage to their homes by visiting damage.la.gov Officials said the damage reports help the state assess the overall impact of the storm but do not constitute an application for assistance or an insurance claim.

Businesses affected by storm-related interruptions are also encouraged to report impacts through a separate online form at forms. juvare.com/LOUISIANASBA EIDL, which is used to document economic disruption caused by severe weather. Like the residential damage report, submitting the form does not guarantee assistance or replace insurance claims.

For residents needing physical help with storm cleanup, Crisis Cleanup has activated its January 2026 Winter Storms Home Cleanup Hotline. Individuals can call 844-965-1386 to request volunteer assistance with tasks such as cutting and removing fallen trees, piling debris and garbage at the curb, placing tarps on damaged roofs, and mucking out flooded areas.

Crisis Cleanup officials said the hotline connects callers with volunteers from local relief organizations, community groups and faith-based organizations. All services are provided free of charge, though assistance cannot be guaranteed due to the volume of requests. The hotline will remain open through Feb. 13, 2026.

Officials emphasized that Crisis Cleanup volunteers do not provide social services such as food, clothing, shelter or insurance assistance and do not assist with FEMA registration. Volunteers work without compensation and bring their own tools and equipment when available.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to report damage as soon as possible and to share the cleanup hotline information with neighbors who may need help, particularly elderly residents or those unable to perform physical labor.
