• Monroe Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will host its annual Mardi Gras Scholarship Gala at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at the West Monroe Sports Complex in West Monroe. The event will honor Pastor Jalon D. Chatmon as Richland Parish Humanitarian of the Year and recognize SFC Joe Jones as a member of the Richland Parish court.
• Pastor and Mrs. M.R. Reed Sr. will celebrate their 45th pastoral anniversary and wedding anniversary Feb. 8. The pastoral celebration will be held at noon at Pine Hill Baptist Church, 209 Oliver St., Rayville, and the wedding dinner will be held at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church. Guest speaker will be Bishop Patrick Stubbs.
• Mangham Community Day will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 8 at Mangham Ballpark. The free, family- friendly event will feature food, games, activities for all ages and kickball signups, with Mangham Diamond Youth Baseball on site for the 2026 season signups.
• Rayville High School will hold tryouts for the RHS Stingers dance team Feb. 10 to 13 at the Rayville High School Field House. Mandatory tryout practices will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 10 to 12, with the official tryout set for 5 p.m. Feb. 13.
• American Legion Post 122 will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 19 at Rhymes Library, 815 Louisa St., Rayville.
• Riverfield Academy will host a Mardi Gras Mom & Son Dance from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 in the Riverfield Academy new gym. The event is open to pre-K 3 through fifth-grade students. Cost is $20 per couple and $5 per additional son. A photo at the dance will be available for $5. Proceeds benefit RA Day.
• Poverty Point World Heritage Site will host a Night Hike at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at the site in Pioneer. The two-mile guided hike will conclude with a bonfire and storytelling from Eastern Woodlands tribal traditions. Participation is limited to 50 people and advance registration is required by calling 318-926-5492.
