Delhi Bears lose overtime contest to Simsboro

Delhi fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Simsboro last Thursday but wound up with a less than desirable result.

They fell 71-64 to the Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 74-55 loss they experienced in the teams’ previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2021.

Delhi lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jatavius Hester, who almost dropped a doubledouble with 24 points and nine rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he’s played. Jayden Lusk was another key player, going 6-for-13 to rack up 14 points along with five assists and four steals. Rounding out the scoring was Ka’marrio Banks with 17 points.

Delhi has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Simsboro, they pushed their record up to 7-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home win.
