Richland COA extends thanks
To the editor:
I would like the community to know the important role it plays in aiding the COA to fulfill its mission of providing services to the elderly of Richland Parish.
The COA would like to thank the community at large for its support of our agency.
Although the COA receives funds from the state through the Governor’s Office of Elderly Affairs, it also operates on donations from the public. We greatly appreciate our financial donors. We also appreciate our non-monetary donors who provide such items as medical equipment, fans during our fan drives, and canned goods (churches, law enforcement, police jury, business, and private citizens).
The COA provides a hot meal to our participants in our Rayville and Delhi Centers and through home delivered meals. The meal drivers provide a point of personal contact for our homebound seniors. A smiling face and a little conversation are a bright spot in their day. The Center participants enjoy a meal, fellowship, and weekly activities such as Bingo, Bible study, and exercise.
Again, we say thank you to the community at large for all that you do to help us serve the elderly citizens of Richland Parish.
