Two men were arrested last week on charges of burglary and firearms possession.

Richland Parish Sheriff Gary Gilley said deputies arrested Charles Lusk, 41, of West Monroe, LA  and Richard Rockhill, 38, of Rayville, on charges of  simple burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on Aug. 14.

The Town of Delhi is making plans for the holidays.

Delhi Mayor Jesse Washington invites the public to attend a meeting of the Delhi Special Events Committee at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Delhi Town Hall.

The meeting is being held to begin planning for the upcoming holiday season.

“If you would like to be a part of the committee, please come out and share your ideas,” Washington said. “Remember this is your community and we encourage you to get involved.”

The Louisiana Purchase Council, Boy Scouts of America will host Join Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA School Night kickoffs in Richland Parish Aug. 29.

Parents or guardians and their sons and daughters are encouraged to attend the kickoffs to learn about all that Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA has to offer. Boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade are eligible to participate in Cub Scouts.

To join Scouts BSA, young men and ladies must be 11 years old or in the sixth grade.
