Riverfield Raiders up season record to 4-0

 The Riverfield Academy Raiders continued a winning streak by defeating the Hilcrest Christian Academy Cougars this past Friday night. 

As it was the week before, Riverfield proved to be the more dominant team early on and gained a 44-6 first half lead. 

By the time the second half began, the game clock had already been set in the constant run mode and time quickly ran out for the Cougars who suffered a 60-14 loss to the Raiders. 

The Raiders played with great teamwork and determination with everyone on the team getting some time on the field. 

The Raiders ground attack proved to be strong in the match up as it has been since the season began. 

The Raiders gained 287 yards in the rushing game. Also the Raiders gained 145 yards on kick offs and punt returns which included a third quarter 80 yard kick off return for a touch down by Garrett Brakefield. 

In the passing game the Raiders gained 46 yards. Garrett Brakefield was one for two completing to Alex Allen for a 28 yard touchdown in the opening minutes of the second quarter.

 Braxton Shelton was three for five and 18 yards completing once to Kaden Geisbrect for a touchdown. 

Leading the rushing attack was Nicholas Heath with 97 yards. Heath scored one touchdown. Hudson Brakefield had 55 yards and scored twice. Brett Whorten gained 38 yards. Garrettt Brakefield had 45 yards and scored twice.

Braxton Shelton had three yards, Addison Shelton gained 19 yards while Colton Williams gained 30 yards and scored one touchdown. 

Jackson Shelton added three points to the Raider score with a 36 yard field goal.

The Raiders will be in action at home tomorrow night as they host the St. Aloysius Flashes.
