Police Report

Rayville Police Chief Markus Turner announced the Rayville Police Department made 23 for the week of Aug. 21-27.

These included 11 for disturbing the peace (fighting), six for inciting a riot, two each for damage to property and battery on an officer, and one each for illegal possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm on school property and simple assualt.

Ten juveniles were arrested. Charges were one each for battery on an officer, damage to property, theft less than $300, domestic abuse battery, terrorizing, resisting an officer, illegal possession of firearm, flight from an officer, carrying firearm on school property and unlawful possession of tobacco or vapor product.

The Rayville Police Department issued a total of seven traffic citations for speeding this week.

Chief Markus Turner stated we have too many citizens taking the law into their own hands. He said if you attempt to take the law into your own hands, there is a possibility that you will face charges and accrue fines. 

Chief Turner advises all citizens to call his officers to handle your disputes.
