Police Report

Rayville Police Chief Markus Turner announced the Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of Feb. 5-12.

• LaBrandon Butler, 231 Russell St., Rayville; possession of Schedule I with intent to distribute.

• DeMarcus Dixon, 28 Plum Tree Drive, Rayville; illegal carry of a firearm.

• Alexis Johnson, 147 Legacy Drive, Rayville; disturbing the peace by profanity, simple battery, battery on a police officer and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

The Rayville Police Department issued a total of five traffic citations this week. That number includes two for speeding and one each for no driver’s license, brake lights (two required) and failure to use a signal.

Rayville Police Chief Markus Turner and his staff would like to congratulate Officer Reginald McArthur, Officer Larry Johnson and Officer William Boren for becoming grandfathered into Louisiana Peace Officer Standards and Training. 

Chief Turner stated to maintain this certification, officers are required to maintain yearly on the POST firearms qualification course and complete the minimum 20 hour in-service training.

Chief Turner would also like to say good luck to Officer Journey Wall who is attending the police academy.
