Hunter elected judge

Marcus Hunter was elected judge of the court of appeal for the first district of the second circuit over the weekend.

Hunter won the position with 61 percent of the balloting with 3,579 votes to J. Garland Smith’s 2,244.

Hunter carried Tensas Parish by 51 percent with 213 votes to Smith’s 206.
