The weather is getting pleasant, and the Rayville Police Department has begun receiving numerous complaints from different members of the community regarding being disturbed by loud music.

Chief Turner is not against having fun and listening to your music, but is important to remind everyone to be mindful of the volume of the music in your vehicle and at home. Your music should be played for your enjoyment and not to disturb the peace of others.

Also, it is illegal to ride four-wheelers, go-karts, mini bikes, etc, on public roadways. He wants you to realize if you are caught riding these illegal vehicles, it can result in you being issued a citation as well as accruing fees while getting your recreational vehicle impounded.

“My staff and I are here to serve and protect because we care and want to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable. So if anyone has any questions or needs to talk, always feel free to call my staff and me if we can assist you,” Chief Turner said. “I want to take this time to express my heartfelt sympathies to all of the bereaved families.”
