Holly Ridge Happenings

When you feel alone try to remember this. Above you are God’s overshadowing wings (Psalm 91:4). Beneath you are God’s everlasting arms (Deuteronomy 33:37). All around you is the Angel of the Lord (Psalm 34:7). Inside you is God’s peace (Philippians 4:7). Thank you, Heavenly Father.

Here on Thursday was Hilda Clack and Lawrence Smith from West Monroe. We had a very long, but great, visit. 

Well I suppose the school bells have been ringing for our children. Be mindful of the school buses for the safety of our children. I wish for them a safe and happy school year.

Don’t be a fan of a celebrity, who doesn’t even know you. Be a fan of Jesus Christ, who dies for you!

Happy Birthday this week to Lindsey Dixson and Glenda Fay Moss on Aug. 19, Ernestine Lofton and Tori Cantu on Aug. 20, Dan Rainwater, Kiley Clack and my “lil” great grandson, Hayes Chappell, on Aug. 21, Tye Cheek on Aug. 22, Charlie Morgan on Aug. 23, Addison and MacKenzie Stokes on Aug. 24, and another great grandson, Lawson Rawls, on Aug. 25. May each of these celebrate many, many more happy ones.

Anniversary wishes to Duke and Donna Jones on Aug. 21 and Ben and Christine Reddick (63 years) on Aug. 23. I wish for these many more very happy years together.

Our sincere prayers, sympathy and love goes out to the family and friends of Dan Little who took his Heavenly flight on Aug. 10, 2021. Our class of ‘57 lost a faithful member on that day. Dan’s services were on Friday, Aug. 13, at Griffon Funeral Home in West Monroe and interment was in McKnight Cemetery. He will be greatly missed. He and his wife, Carol, came over quite often to check on me, so I lost a dear friend.  May God Bless each one touched by his passing.
