Lou Emarea Yates Hixon

Lou Emarea Yates Hixon, age 90, left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday morning, April 16, 2023.  

She was born Feb 20, 1933, in Bardwell, KY, to James Neal Yates and Beatrice Wooden Yates. While at Bowling Green Business College, Western KY University, she met and married her husband of 59 years, William E. “Buddy” Hixon from Mangham, who preceded her in death.  

Virginia Mills

Funeral services for Virginia Mills, 80, of Rayville, were held Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Rayville, with Dr. Eddie Wren and Mr. Tim Morris officiating. 

Interment was in the Rayville Masonic Cemetery, Rayville, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mrs. Virginia was born December 19, 1942 in Tallulah, and passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023, in Rayville.

Bobbie Diane Martin Stell

Funeral services for Bobbie Diane Martin Stell, 73, of Winnsboro, were held Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Crowville First Baptist Church, with Rev. James Lee Busby and Rev. Wade Coker officiating, with internment following at Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville.

Visitation was until the time of the service at the church with all services under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home – Winnsboro.

William F. Davis

Graveside services William F. “Bo” Davis, 76, of Start, were held Sunday, April 2, 2023, at New Salem Cemetery, Girard, with Bro. Bentley Curry officiating under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mr. Bo was born June 28, 1946, in Start and passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, in Start. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Bonnie Brownlow Davis; parents, Cole and Merell Davis; brother, Chuck Davis; and sisters, Ida Lee White and Colette Geddes; brother-in-law, Ronnie Geddes.

Helen Maxine McGee

Helen Maxine McGee, 96, of Van Buren, Ark., passed away Monday, March 27, 2023. 

She was born April 26, 1926, in Rayville to the late Claude and Allie (Wilson) Graham, where she was raised on a pecan orchard. She was a homemaker while her husband was a career Marine, which meant she made homes again and again. She took daily notes on the weather for decades, and she journaled her private joys as well as when she mowed the lawn.
