Funeral services for Timmie Ray Thames, 72, of Rayville, LA will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, Rayville, LA with Dr. Eddie Wren, Mr. Tom Allen, Mr. Steve Roark, and Mr. Joe Bruyninckx officiating. Interment will follow in the Rayville Masonic Cemetery, Rayville, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Timmie Ray was born June 1, 1947 in Rayville, LA and passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 in Birmingham, AL.

Elizabeth Joseph

Elizabeth Joseph, 66, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, MO, due to complications following a stroke. 

She was born in Quebec, LA on June 27, 1953, to Henry and Lou Ethel Monroe. 

A graduate of Delhi High School, she pursued professional training in administration and enjoyed a successful, 36-year career with the U.S. Army. 

Remembered by many as the life of the party, Elizabeth found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures; visiting and chatting with close family and friends. 

Shawn Templeton

Memorial services for Shawn Templeton, 38, of Rayville, were held Saturday, August 3, 2019, at the First Baptist Church Rayville, Rayville, with Dr.  Eddie Wren and Bro. Bubba Ezell officiating.

Shawn was born July 1, 1981 in Monroe and passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Rayville.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nora Jane Henson and Harold Murphy; and his paternal grandparents, Johnnie D. and George Wesley Templeton.

Audrey Weston McDowell

Services for Mrs. Audrey Weston McDowell, 97, of Winnsboro, were Friday, July 26, 2019 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, with Bro. Doyle Adams officiating.

Interment followed in Lone Cherry Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mrs. McDowell loved to spend time with her family, loved cooking and sewing, and loved flowers. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry McDowell, son, Walter Daniel McDowell, her parents and seven other siblings.

Mike I. Simpson

Memorial services for Mike I. Simpson, 64, of Delhi were held Sunday, July 21, 2019 in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Delhi.

Mike was born on August 22, 1954 in Fordyce, Arkansas and passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, Louisiana following a sudden illness.

He was a former Control Board Operator for United Gas Pipeline and was retired from Poverty Point State Park.

He is preceded in death by his father, Horace Ivan Simpson and a sister, Gloria “Sissy” Simpson.
