Shirley Nell Smith

Shirley Nell Smith passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Ochsner Health Center O’Neal in Baton Rouge. She was 80.

 Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, William Asa Jones and Ruby Audie Brantley Jones; her husband, Glen Smith; daughters, Tena Matthews and Taye Taylor; brothers, Gary Jones and Eddie Jones and her sisters, Sue Smith and Jonette Gaddis.

 She is survived by her daughter, Tamie McCaffrey (Alton); brother, Ronny Jones (Mary); step-sons, Larry Smith (Vicki) and David Smith (Dana); step-daughter, Tammy Smith; grandchildren, Chad Holmes, Lee McCaffrey, Brian McCaffrey, Will Matthews and Lindsay Lynn; step-grandchildren, Audrey Smith, Daniel Smith, Ashford Kehoe, Cole Hawthorne, Laney Smith, Taylor Smith, Peyton Rutherford and Parker Rutherford; great-grandchildren, Colby Smith, Chloe Smith and Corbin Brown.

 A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Tew and Rev. Stephen Burks officiating.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.  Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

 Pallbearers will be Chad Holmes, Brian McCaffrey, Lee McCaffrey, Will Matthews, Corban Tew and Colby Smith.
