Services for Oscar Leslie Box, 79 of Archibald will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Northeast LA Veteran Cemetery with Tim Johnson officiating.

Service will be under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville.

Mr. Oscar was born on June 9, 1939 in Rayville and died on October 1, 2018 in Rayville.

He loved to work, doing many different jobs after retirement. He loved his family especially his grand babies. He loved his country and showed it by serving in the U. S. Army for 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Erika Box; parents, Melvin Lee and Bessie Ione Gowins Box; and numerous siblings.

He is survived by his daughters, Sylvia Walker and husband Glen of Rayville, Sandy Wheeler and husband Larry of Archibald, and Debby Bunch and husband Kevin of Rayville; a son, Steven Box of Archibald; five grandchildren, Jared Ponder, Chelsey O’Neal, Jace Ponder, Jordan Ponder, and Brianna Ponder; three great grandchildren, Ashton Ponder, Johnathan Ponder, and Maylee O’Neal; a sister, Carolyn Pailette; a brother, Jack Box; and numerous other relatives.
