Barbara Gilley Cannon

Funeral services for Barbara Gilley Cannon, 88, of Rayville, were held  Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Rayville First Assembly of God, Rayville, with Bro. Calvin Stapp officiating.

Interment followed in the Gwin Cemetery, Mangham, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mrs. Barbara was born September 7, 1930 and passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Rayville. 

Mrs. Barbara Cannon was the owner of Cannon’s Grocery in Bee Bayou and Zebedee from 1960 - 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband, James “John” Cannon; parents, Jules and Myrtle Gilley; great-grandson, Jackson Kennedy; brothers, Jules Gilley, Jr. and Charles Truman Gilley; and sister, Lydia Mae Brunson.

Survivors include her children, James R. Cannon of Rayville, Alvin “Johnny” Cannon and wife, Mary of Rayville, Debra Stapp and husband, Calvin of Rayville, Charles “Chuck” Cannon and wife, Amy of Rayville, Vonda Cannon of Ringgold, LA; grandchildren, Tony Cannon, Jonann Cannon Milner and husband, Jeff, Jenifer Stapp Lee and husband, Sammy, Lauren Cannon, Luke Cannon, Breanna Foreman, and Noah Foreman; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Louise Twiner; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Sammy Lee, Trey Garcia, Justin Cannon, Jacob Cannon, Noah Foreman, and Billy Joe Remore.
