Roger Lee Bowen

Roger Bowen, 69, was born on August 16, 1949 and passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in Alexandria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Esley and Lydia Alice Bowen; brother, Merle Bowen; sister, Lucille Hughes; sister, Mary Helen Crowe and brother, William Harold Bowen. 

Survivors include his three children, Clay Bowen of Farmerville; Rachelle Bowen of Plano, TX, and Lydia Bowen of Plano, TX.;  seven grandchildren; and several, nieces and nephews. 

Lessie Maxine Johnston Ramsey

Funeral services for Lessie Maxine Johnston Ramsey, 89, of Start, were heldSunday, April 14, 2019 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville with Bro. Mark Parker officiating. 

Interment followed in the Start Cemetery, Start. 

 Mrs. Lessie was born February 26, 1930 in Archibald, and passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 in Start.

George Dell Hogg

George Dell Hogg of Delhi passed away at the age of 81 in West Monroe on April 11, 2019. 

He was born December 10, 1937 near Lamesa, Texas. Friends knew him as Dell, but family knew him as Judge, which was a nickname his grandfather gave him at birth. 

Dell grew up in and around Dawson County Texas working with his dad farming and working around cotton gins. He married Edith Ann Montgomery on February 14, 1959. They moved their young family from Texas to Rayville, Louisiana in 1965. He continued to work in the cotton gin industry until his retirement in 1995.

Jim Lee Boies

Funeral services for Mr. Jim Lee Boies were held on Friday April 12, 2019 at Alto Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Miller officiating. 

Visitation was until time of service. 

Mr. Boies was an electrician, a member of Alto Baptist Church, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family, the outdoors, and wood working. 

Mr. Boies is survived by his wife of 55 years Mrs.  Andrea Taylor Boies, one daughter, Mrs. Tracy Chamblee and husband Mike of Dallas, Texas. Sister, Rachel Brister and husband Lynn of Alto.

Bennie Charles Robinson Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Bennie Charles Robinson Sr.,  90, of Rayville, were held Friday April 12, 2019 at the First Baptist Church Rayville, LA with Dr. Eddie Wren officiating.

Internment followed in the Start Cemetery, Start,  under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Rayville. Visitation was Friday, April 12, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, Rayville.
